AT Productions is one of the leading independent full-service entertainment companies in the Netherlands.
AT Productions saw its inception in 1996, when company founder Edwin Jansen signed up singer Anouk. Her breakthrough single ‘Nobody’s Wife’ topped the charts across Europe, while her debut album ‘Together Alone’ went platinum in Belgium and Italy and achieved triple platinum in the Netherlands. With her amazing voice Anouk has since become one of the leading rock divas in Europe.
The successful launch of Anouk’s career laid the foundation for what has become one of the most successful entertainment companies in the Netherlands. Among other activities, AT Productions now manages the careers of the finest Dutch rock bands, such as DI-RECT, Within Temptation and Kane.
One of the core strengths of AT Productions is that the company itself performs a very wide range of entertainment activities, particularly in live entertainment, and does so in a synergy-creating fashion. Our company is active in Management, Bookings, Events and Publishing. On top of that, AT Productions has forged strong ties with an international network of partners across the industry: promoters (Live Nation, AEG, Skorpio), agents (Helter Skelter, Pinnacle Entertainment), record labels (Roadrunner, Sony, EMI, Universal, A&N Records), festival organizers and management agencies like Eye Sound in Germany.
How effective this broad-based and well-integrated approach is can be seen in the case of Within Temptation, which is now the Netherlands’ most successful band around the world. Within Temptation has performed in more than 40 countries; selling in excess of 2 million copies of their CDs and DVDs in over 45 countries; and earning themselves numerous gold and platinum records plus many awards, including a World Music Award and an MTV Europe Music Award. Its latest release is a DVD, Black Symphony, containing a live show performed together with a full-blown symphony orchestra. The leading British music magazine Kerrang! gave the performance its highest rating.
AT Events is the part of the company charged with organizing and promoting large-scale public events, such as live concerts and festivals. AT Events has mounted countless indoor and outdoor shows for audiences ranging in size from 5,000 to 45,000. Among the artists/groups featured are P!nk, Black Eyed Peas, world’s no 1. DJ Armin van Buuren, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Live, N.E.R.D. and Keane.
The Bookings Division handles bookings of artists and consists of three units. AT Bookings is responsible for bookings of live artists for festivals and club venues. HetBoekingsburo.nl does bookings for taped-music artists, DJs, presenters, tribute acts and other entertainment. AT Theater is an agency, which sells theatrical productions such as concerts, musicals, cabaret shows and comedy performances to Dutch theaters. At present, The Bookings Division represents over 100 Dutch and foreign artists including Within Temptation and Kane, to name but a few.
Dromenjager (Dream Hunters), a joint venture in which our company participates, carries out the commercial development and marketing of two animal characters: Woezel & Pip, which are two little dogs. In the Netherlands, the popularity of Woezel & Pip has even overtaken that of Miffy a world-famous small rabbit created by Dutch artist Dick Bruna, whose picture books have sold a staggering 80 million copies, appearing in 40 different languages. The two doggies Woezel & Pip take center stage in books (300,000 copies sold); a theater show (100 shows); as well as a TV format for an animated children’s program, scheduled to be aired in 2010. Moreover, Woezel & Pip have spawned 300 merchandising products selling like the proverbial hot cakes. The two animal characters have won the hearts of children and parents alike in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Japan (a country where Miffy has already become a household name), with many other countries now showing a strong interest.
